" As an artist I find the concept of object mortality intriguing; the often unknown fragility of experimental and ephemeral media intensely translates elements of the human experience. The concepts my work centres on are intangible in nature making them difficult to articulate let alone visualize. Despite this I feel that the abstract qualities of these concepts provide vast potential for artistic exploration. These conceptual themes include universal and immense topics such as unreliable memory, mortality, the passing of time and irrevocable change. I attempt to capture features of these topics by integrating natural ephemera with traditional art media as a way of creating a visual artifice that harkens to a shared innate desire to find meaning in even the most ambiguous imagery."
